I really think Wally didn’t just quit because he wanted to go to college. I think he partially resented Barry because Barry was always faster than him and throughout the years Wally never got better like he was supposed to. I mean, he’s not glaring at Bart in that first picture; clearly he’s annoyed at Barry. How was he supposed to stay on the team if all his teammates kept improving, but he never did?
And Barry was super surprised to see Wally at the Garrick house. It’s not much, but I think Wally’s stayed away from Barry for a while. Because he makes him feel inadequate.
Plus, he may have felt like he hindered Barry. We saw that Wally had to be saved by him and Bart; how many times did Barry save Wally on missions together because he wasn’t fast enough? But yeah… I think Wally quit because of Barry…
It’s so reminiscent of the reboot….
